Cornwall beats Nepean 6-3 as Quince gets hat trick

A hat trick by Marly Quince was the highlight in Colts' 6-3 win against the Nepean Raiders.Quince's first goal came 11:56 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:28 into the second and at 1:01 into the third.
Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:47 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.
The Cornwall Colts made Nepean's goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Ryan Mulder made 20 stops and Brett Magnus made seven. Cornwall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Colts found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Cornwall has scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign.
Cornwall additionally got points from Tanner Spink, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Matthew Cruickshank, who also finished with two goals and one assist. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Ryan Patulli, who had two and James Edwardson, Dean Derouchie, and Chase Pearson, who contributed one a piece.
The Raiders kept the Colts' goalie busy throughout the game, and Edwardson made 29 saves on 32 shots. Penalties took their toll on Nepean, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Nepean also got points from Page, who also registered one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Jody Sullivan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Francesco Iannantuono and Kris Johnson, who each chipped in one.
Cornwall ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For the Colts, Cal Hofford was ejected from the game. Nepean ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For the Raiders, Sullivan and Mitchell Herlihey were ejected from the contest.
