Pointstreak Partners with The Futures Collegiate Baseball League

Pointstreak Partners with The Futures Collegiate Baseball League

Toronto, ON Pointstreak Sports Technologies and The Futures Summer Collegiate League are pleased to announce they have reached a service agreement which will see Pointstreak providing real-time scoring, official statistics, administration services and websites for the leagues` 2011 Inaugural Season.

”The FCBL strives to become America’s premiere collegiate wood bat league.  We believe our partnership with Pointstreak is reflective of our forward thinking mentality aligning ourselves with America’s best prospect leagues.” said Chris Hall, Commissioner of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League

Pointstreak's baseball platform will streamline the process of capturing and delivering game statistics for the league and deliver those events to the League website in real-time for the benefit of players, fans, media partners and professional scouts. A unique feature of Pointstreak's baseball statistical solution is Game Live, a real-time flash application that streams play-by-play baseball results over a 3-D graphical image of a baseball diamond. Pointstreak Stats for baseball is also geared towards the needs of media sources, providing Associated Press (AP) formatted box scores, allowing for easy reproduction of baseball stats into print media.  Further, the league and team’s usage of Pointstreak Sites will provide a seamlessly integrated, professional and consistent league wide image.

“Summer Collegiate Baseball is becoming one of the most popular and exciting segments in baseball today and we are extremely excited to be working with the Futures League in their inaugural season. To have the ability to deliver scoring and official statistics to their fans, scouts and media partners in true real-time will be a great way for the New League to hit the ground running”, said Paul Pettipiece, VP of Baseball Operations at Pointstreak Sports Technologies.

About The Futures League:

Each franchise of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England (FCBL) is made up of elite collegiate athletes competing in minor league style format, i.e., playing with wooden bats.  Each franchise provides high quality, affordable family entertainment, in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.

The FCBL is summer collegiate baseball at its best! It will be one of the most talented and competitive leagues in the country.

The league will begin its initial year of operations in 2011.  The genesis of the league was that of Chris Hall the Commissioner of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England, along with guidance of charter FCBL ownership groups from both the Brockton Rox (Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball) and the Lowell Spinners (Boston Red Sox Single A-Affiliate). The first year the league will include teams playing in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Players will be recruited from colleges throughout the U.S.

The League will start its summer season in early June and play an eight-week schedule concluding in early August with each team playing each other 14 times for a total of 44 games. (The Sharks will play an additional 4 game outside the FCBL.) The League Championship is determined by a playoff immediately after the season ends. Each year our top players will be scouted and selected in the MLB Draft.

Any student who wishes to play in our League must be:

•    Currently enrolled in a NCAA sanctioned college or university,
•    Be in good academic standing,
•    Have completed one year of athletic eligibility and
•    Have at least one year of eligibility remaining.

One of the FCBL rules is that each team have at least 13 players selected from a New England-based college or be a resident of New England (or a combination of the two options). The league strongly suggests that student athletes have their college coach and/or a MLB scout recommend them to our General Manager. Their phone numbers and email addresses can be found at the Contact Us page.
