Pointstreak Provides IIHF Continental Cup Statistics On Behalf Of Spanish Ice Hockey

Toronto, ON – Pointstreak Sports Technologies Inc. and the Spanish Ice Sports Federation-Spanish Ice Hockey (Federacion Española Deportes De Hielo – FEDH) are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement which will see Pointstreak provide real-time scoring coverage at the 2010 IIHF Continental Cup tournament in Jaca, Spain (September 24-26, 2010). For the first time in the history of the IIHF Continental Cup all statistics will be presented in multiple languages such as English, German, French and others using Pointstreak’s patented real-time scoring and statistical technology. Through the combined efforts of representatives from the Spanish Ice Sports Federation-Spanish Ice Hockey and Pointstreak Sports Technologies Inc., hockey fans around the world can now follow action from the First Round of the Continental Cup live.

About IIHF Continental Cup:
The IIHF Continental Cup is a tournament for European clubs, begun in 1997 with participating teams chosen by the European countries' respective winners of their National Ice Hockey Championship. The competition began in 1997-98 with 42 clubs from 26 countries, which expanded to 48 teams for the next two years. In the 2000-01 season, with the European Hockey League on hiatus, the Continental Cup became the de facto European club championship. The format remained the same, with 36 teams from 27 countries. From 2004-05, participants included best clubs of the top European hockey countries.
