Southern Professional Hockey League Adopts Pointstreak

(Asheville, NC) The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), in conjunction with and Cardinal Sports Management, is proud to announce that Inc. will become the official statistical provider and real-time scoring system of the SPHL for the 2004/2005 regular season.

The SPHL will be using Pointstreak PRO, Pointstreak's real-time scoring system for professional, semi-pro, elite junior and college hockey leagues. Pointstreak PRO essentially replaces paper gamesheets with touch-screen terminals or laptops to collect statistical information as it happens during hockey games. SPHL game scores, and other statistical information, are then broadcast over the Internet, via, to any online computer in the world. Besides eliminating the data-entry of paper gamesheets, Pointstreak's system also uses powerful web-based, database-driven software to streamline and automate many aspects of league operations. Most importantly, for the SPHL fan, Pointstreak's scoring system will provide up-to-date and detailed statistics for their favourite team as well as standings and results for the entire league.

Member teams include the Asheville Aces (NC), Fayetville Fire Antz (NC), Columbus Cottonmouths (GA), Huntsville Havoc (AL), Jacksonville Barracudas (FL), Knoxville Ice Bears (TN), Macon Trax (GA) and Winston-Salem Polar Twins (NC).
